Keep Us Safe from Pelosi

July 3, 2006

A lot of crazy things are said in Washington, but I nominate this from house minority leader Nancy Pelosi among my top ten favorites. Commenting on last week’s Supreme Court ruling that the Bush administration exceeded its authority by creating military tribunals for detainees at Guantanamo, Pelosi said: “(the Supreme Court reaffirmed) the American ideal that all are entitled to the basic guarantees of our justice system. This is a triumph for the rule of law…we cannot allow the values on which our country was founded to become a casualty in the war on terrorism.”

The court didn’t say the detainees, including Osama bin Laden’s former driver, could not be held, or that they could not eventually be tried. It simply wants Congress to weigh-in on the matter.

The media take at face value the claim by Osama’s driver that he took the job to feed his family. These guys are trained liars and killers. Why would anyone believe anything they say? They don’t care about the rule of law, except the rule of Sharia law, which they want to put us under. Congress should do whatever is necessary to keep us safe from these
