Here's Why Establishment of Palestinian State Is a Bad Idea

Arab states are pressuring the United States. They want us to pressure Israel to give up more land but with no promise for a permanent, irrevocable declaration of peace from her enemies. Secretary of State Colin Powell was set to deliver a speech calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state prior to the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. The speech was shelved because of the attack, but a Palestinian state is thought to be the policy of this administration, as it was in previous administrations.

The problem is, and always has been, that Yasser Arafat wants a so-called "right of return" so that millions of so-called "exiles" can come back to the region and help him wipe out Israel and the Jewish people. Israel's enemies say it and write it and live it and have for years. Peaceful co-existence with Israel is not their objective. Obliteration of Israel is their objective. What will it take to get it through the thick heads and blind eyes and deaf ears of our government?
