Go Have a Tea Party

April 13, 2009

If you’ve been paying attention you know about the tea parties that will be held all over the country on April 15, also known as tax day. I hope you will attend one near you because it is important to send Washington a message that we, the people who pay the bills, are tired of the way Washington and many of the states waste our hard-earned money.

Governments think everything they do is righteous and noble and that we ought to pay for it. When governments overspend, we are told we have to pay more and if we don’t we’re selfish and don’t care about the needy.

It’s time to tell governments we’re through playing their game. We are going to tell governments how much they can spend and refuse to be told by governments how much of our money we can keep.

Governments are supposed to serve us. We have become their servants. The only way to change this is for the people to take back the power. “We the people” begins the preamble to the Constitution. Attend a tea party and then follow that up with more action. Otherwise, we surrender to tyranny.
