Even Rocks Crumble and Fall

The British Broadcasting Corporation, which used to be the rock in news and information during World War II, has become corrupt. Internal and external commissions have documented its bias in much of its journalism, especially its one-sided anti-Israel treatment in Middle East reporting. Now comes a new scandal that may at last cause serious reforms to be made in the tax-funded institution.

Six BBC shows faked the winners of various competitions. Worse, these shows were supposed to provide money for several charities. Several BBC executives covered-up the incidents and they face dismissal, though no one was fired after previous commissions reported on shortcomings and biases.

As bad as these admissions are, they are only part of the problem for the BBC, which is attempting to establish a beach head in the United States with its programming. The BBC has long had such a left-wing bias about everything – from the Middle East to American politics – that it makes our mainstream media look fair. British taxpayers deserve better.
