Don't Stay Home

October 10, 2006

Before deciding to stay home in the coming election for whatever reason, consider this. Are you willing to allow the other party to take over two-thirds of the government and open a new counter-offensive in the war on terror? I put it that way because most of the democratic leadership wants to pull out of Iraq before the job is finished. What signal do you think that would send to our enemies – and even our few friends – around the world?

This republican congress has been far from perfect, but they are far better than the alternative. Add to the concerns about the war and terrorism the certain tax increases they’d pass and the end of conservative judges on the supreme or any other federal court. Is that worth indulging ourselves to payback republicans for not acting more like republicans?

Gas prices are down substantially, unemployment is down. The stock market is at record levels. More than 6 million jobs have been created since August, 2003. Sure, more can be done, but it won’t be if republicans lose and they are defeated because you stayed home. Think about it. I am.
