Don't Just Complain - Support the Media's Positive Voices

Something happened last week that reminded me about our priorities. A major newspaper canceled my column. The editor said she had not run it in awhile and, when no one complained, she felt justified in canceling it. Now I'm hoping to reverse her decision, but I was again reminded how much time many conservatives spend cursing the darkness instead of lighting more candles and supporting the good. In the parable of the wheat and the tares, Jesus told us to concentrate on the wheat and leave the tares alone. How often we concentrate on the "tares" of culture and ignore, or don't pay enough attention to, planting the wheat.

There are Christians and conservatives in the media. Not enough, but some. Do you support us by writing notes to editors, news directors, and TV executives telling them you read or watch our work and appreciate that work being carried? I can guarantee you one thing. Those opposed to what we believe write and phone. Maybe that's why they seem to be advancing and we seem to be on the retreat. Write and phone. It makes a difference.
