Costa Rica: Moving to Tel Aviv

August 23, 2006

Many in the West are under the false impression that if we just do nice things for the Islamo-fascists, they will like us, or at least not want to hurt us anymore. On the contrary, doing nice things to them or for them merely encourages them in doing evil things to us.

And so we have the latest stupidity: Costa Rica is moving its embassy from Jerusalem – Israel’s eternal capital – to Tel Aviv. The reason? Costa Rican president Oscar Arias says he made the decision to win more friends in the middle east and comply with UN resolutions. Those so-called “friends” aren’t complying with UN resolutions. Those so-called friends want to eliminate Israel. Even the leftist Shimon Peres called Arias to try to talk him out of the decision.

Only El Salvador maintains an embassy in Jerusalem. This might gain Costa Rica short-term favor, but it will only serve to encourage the islamo-fascists that they continue to subdue the west to their bidding. How else to view this? There are no benefits to Costa Rica or to other free nations. And there are lot of detriments.
