Conservationists Should Start with Our Species

December 10, 2010

The caribou are a species that environmentalists said were in danger if an oil pipe was constructed between Valdez and Prudhoe Bay in the 1970's. It was and they aren't.

Now the caribou are apparently threatened by Sarah Palin. She shot one on her TLC show and that got TV producer Aaron Sorkin in a tizzy. He accused Palin of engaging in a snuff film and said the cable network should be ashamed of itself. Sorkin, who created and wrote the hit TV series "The West Wing" blogged for the Huffington Post that Palin wasn't killing the animal for food, but for fun. Apparently he doesn't know that deer and caribou are overpopulating some areas thanks in part to people like Sorkin.

But here's a deal for Sorkin. I'll come out against killing caribou if he opposes abortion. Let him come to Germantown, Maryland where a late term abortionist has just set up shop so he can kill babies who would survive outside the womb. Sorkin and his fellow pro-abortion liberals care nothing for dead babies, only dead animals. So who is the real hypocrite?
