Congressman Condit Reaping a Bitter Harvest

What do I think of the Gary Condit story? I said some things Tuesday on CNN's Talk Back Live. Mostly, I feel sorry for him and for his wife. And I feel sorry for America because we have played so fast and loose with marriage vows and sexual purity that it is no wonder we are in such a condition.

Nightly on television and daily in the other media we read of sexual perversions and exploits involving celebrities and politicians. After Bill Clinton, no wonder some politicians think they can get away with cheating on their wives and doing as they like.

The police have searched Condit's house. They're talking about a lie detector test. A young, impressionable woman has been missing for nearly three months. All I can think of are verses such as "Be not deceived, God is not mocked; whatsoever a man sows, that he shall also reap," and "Be sure your sins will find you out." They certainly have found Gary Condit out and what happened to him should be a lesson for all of us.
