Clinton's Lost Integrity

When President Clinton came to office in 1993, he promised the most ethical administration in history. Even democrats now think he fell short.

When President Bush was sworn in one month ago, he promised to tell the truth. The proof that he is living up to that promise came with the air strike on Iraqi radar sights last week. No one I heard or read believed that Bush, in conjunction with the British government, bombed those targets for any reason other than the stated one. Remember that attacks ordered by Clinton came while he was being impeached and during the publicity about his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Many thought those attacks were an attempt to divert attention from Clintons behavior. Now Clinton is out of office and some of his closest associates refuse to defend him. Gone are the spinners who would lie for Clinton. Now hes forced to lie for himself. He has a lot of experience, but few believe anything he says. Thats one of the consequences of being Bill Clinton. The loss of integrity is a price all liars must pay.
