A woman has come forward to say she was sexually assaulted by Pastor John Lowe’s son while the son babysat her as a child.
The woman’s claim came just hours after pastor Lowe himself admitted in a now-viral video to having been involved in an adulterous relationship with a 16-year-old some 20 years ago/
In the video, the woman and her husband take the stage unexpectedly to tell the congregation that Lowe had sexually abused the woman for nine years and started the abuse when she was just 16 years old.
Meanwhile, the woman who accused the son says Lowe’s son, Jeremy, molested her and her brother when they were “young, prepubescent children,” ChurchLeaders.com reports.
“(Jeremy) sent my brother upstairs to get him something to drink,” the woman, Jessi Kline, posted on social media. “He then proceeded to have me get on top of him and molest me” in the basement of her house.
Jeremy then allegedly told her she could not say anything because she would “get in trouble,” and pastor Lowe would “get mad.”
“I was so scared, and I didn’t understand because I was a child,” Kline said.
Kline later told a friend about the abuse when she was 13. The friend then told a youth leader. Kline said Pastor Lowe and his wife “were not surprised” by the accusation. Jeremy eventually confessed, but the pastor convinced the family not to go to the police.
When the family came forward with the accusation, pastor Lowe began to refer to them as “wolves in sheep’s clothing” and said they “made the story up for attention.”
Kline said she believes New Life Christian Church and World Outreach are “built on lies, deceit, abuse, rape and fear.”
“I felt like we were led down by every Christian, every church, the law enforcement, everything,” Kline’s mother said.
Pastor Lowe has since resigned from the New Life Christian Church and World Outreach. Christian Headlines was unable to determine if Lowe's son, Jeremy, was involved in the church. The church has also closed its social media accounts.
