Warner Bros. Pulls Hillsong Movie from Schedule

“Hillsong -- Let Hope Rise,” the documentary based on the Australian-based Hillsong megachurch, has been pulled from the Warner Bros. schedule. Christian Today reports that the movie was scheduled to release on April 1 but it was pulled from the slot. 

Michael John Warren directed the film that follows the the rise of Hillsong United. The worship band grew from a youth ministry to a Christian music superpower selling over 16 million albums. 

According to the movie’s trailer, Hillsong Church sees 100,000 weekly attendees and 30 million people sing songs written by Hillsong United every Sunday. 

Alcon Entertainment holds the rights to “Hillsong -- Let Hope Rise.” According to Variety, neither Warner Bros. or Alcon commented about the documentary being pulled.
