Celebrity athlete Tim Tebow is reportedly taking part in an initiative to raise money for the homeless population in Manatee County, Florida. Christian Today reports that Tebow will be speaking at the “2015 Evening of Hope” a fundraiser for the Salvation Army’s work with homelessness on May 15.

Tebow is expected to speak about his faith and why he believes in supporting the homeless community.

Manatee County region salvation coordinator Major Dwayne Durham said that the community is “blessed to be able to partner with such well known advocates like Tim Tebow.”

The football star-turned sports analyst has a history of charitable work and heads his own nonprofit, the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Tebow previous said, "From a very early age, my parents instilled in me the importance of God's word, the salvation we have in His Son Jesus and the responsibility we have to give back to others.” The family’s mission was always "to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need."
