Texas Breakaway Episcopal Churches Can Keep Their Property

The Texas Supreme Court has ruled that 52 breakaway Texas Episcopal churches can maintain ownership of their property, CBN News reports. The Fort Worth Episcopal diocese had sued for ownership when the congregations split from the national Episcopal Church. In a 5-4 vote, the state justices overturned an earlier ruling that had given the Episcopal Church the properties. The Texas diocese opposes consecrating gay bishops and ordaining women, among other policies.
