Testing Shows Bible Did Not Stop Save Man from Shooting

An Ohio bus driver’s claim that a Bible shielded him from a shooting earlier this year has proven to be false. After testing the Bible as evidence, authorities concluded that Rickey Wagoner’s story was possibly fabricated.

Wagoner had previously claimed that a he was attacked by three African-American teenagers. The teens allegedly shouted racial slurs at him and stabbed him in the arm. According to Wagoner’s story, his copy of the Bible in his breast pocket saved his life.

Police now say that it is likely Wagoner stabbed himself and shot the Bible when it was located away from his body. “This assault, as reported, is not true, not accurate,” said Police Chief Richard Biehl.
