Ridley Scott Planning 'David' Movie to Follow 'Exodus'

Ridley Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings” will not hit theatres until December, but the director is already planning his next Bible-based movie. Scott is now in talks with 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment regarding the production of “David” (working title).

The new film would be a portrayal of King David’s life after he defeats Goliath.

No plans are finalized for the film yet; Scott has another opportunity to direct a secular movie “The Martian” and must choose which project will receive his focus.

Christian Today reports Scott is familiar with directing biblical and religious films. In 2005, Scott directed “Kingdom of Heaven” about a 12th century conflict between Christians and Muslims.

Hollywood’s “Year of the Bible” has produced such films as “Heaven Is for Real,” “God’s Not Dead,” “Son of God,” and the $359 million-grossing “Noah.”
