Pastor Who was Shot after Praying at Ted Cruz Rally Miraculously Recovering

A pastor who was shot six times in his church parking lot on Sunday has regained consciousness in what many are calling a miraculous recovery.

Charisma News reports that Tim Remington, the pastor of the Altar Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, was shot six times by suspect Kyle Odom who reportedly scoped out the church before the shooting.

Remington was taken to Kootenai Health and Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. He recently regained consciousness and his condition has been upgraded to “fair.”

"He opened one eye and gave me a thumbs up," said Altar church outreach pastor John Padula. "It's absolutely unbelievable," Padula continued. "Without God, there is no way he'd be here."

Remington’s son, Jeremiah, echoed Padula’s sentiments, according to Christian Today, stating that his father’s recovery was nothing short of a miracle.

“It really is, there was a bullet that lodged in his skull. It’s an angel that said, this is as far as its gonna go today,” Jeremiah said.

“Thank you and keep praying for him,” Jeremiah added, also stating that his father can forgive the shooter because “If God can forgive, we can forgive.”

The shooter, Odom, is reported to be a former Marine with a history of mental illness. A manhunt for Odom is underway.

Remington had spoken and given a prayer at a rally for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz the day before being shot. It is not known if there is a connection between Remington’s presence at the rally and his being shot.
