Pastor Encourages Middle Schoolers to Take Failing Grade Rather Than Accept Islam Indoctrination

One pastor is exhorting middle school students to take an F in a class rather than give in to what he terms the “indoctrination” and “brainwashing” of instruction in Islam.

Greg Locke is pastor of Global Vision Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

According to Charisma News, Locke is concerned about the emphasis the Wilson County, Tennessee schools place on Islam while, as one parent of a student claimed, the students are only given a “watered-down version of Christianity.”

Director of Schools Donna Wright disagrees with Locke. "No one in any Wilson County School is teaching any indoctrination of Islam or of any world religion for that matter,” she wrote on Facebook. "To imply or state otherwise shows a lack of knowledge about the standards used in our schools."

Her Facebook post also included an attachment of the middle school’s curriculum.

Wright went on to note that "You cannot teach world history without talking about the influence of a religion on a country's or region's people, government, economy, etc. It would be like trying to teach the history of the United States without talking about Christianity and the early settlers [sic] desire to escape religious persecution."

Others have sounded the alarm at Islam being taught in public schools. Charisma News notes that both Todd Starnes and Bethany Blankley have condemned the Common Core mandates that include the teaching of Islam.
