Obama Spokesman Says that Government Will Not Stop Funding Planned Parenthood

President Obama’s spokesman Josh Earnest said in a press conference that the government would not be cutting funding from Planned Parenthood after an executive from the business was seen in a leaked video discussing the sale of aborted baby organs.

Life News reports Earnest dismissed the question of cutting funding with a curt “no.” Last week, Earnest defended Planned Parenthood, saying that the company follows “the highest ethical guidelines.”

The president’s spokesman said he had not spoken to Obama about the video.

“I did read news reports,” Earnest said. “Planned Parenthood said they follow the highest ethical guidelines.”

As previously reported, a video featuring Planned Parenthood’s Senior Director of Medical Services Deborah Nucatola surfaced last week. In the video, Nucatola is heard explaining that specific organs can be saved during the abortion process to sell to companies that do medical research.

The video caused outrage among pro-life advocates. Planned Parenthood argued that the video had been heavily edited and did not adequately explain the process of donating tissue with the consent of patients.
