Obama Named Most Admirable Man in the World, Followed by Trump and Pope Francis

President Obama has been named the most admirable man in the world for the eighth year in a row, according to a Gallup poll. The research company’s annual list of most admired men and women was released Monday (Dec. 28).

Christian Today reports Gallup also named Donald Trump and Pope Francis as the second-most admirable men. Trump was a new name to the list, but garnered 5 percent of the poll’s support, tied with Francis.

Seventeen percent of the poll’s support gained Obama the top spot.

Obama is now tied with Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan for top finishes in the poll. Dwight D. Eisenhower has the record for being named most admired 12 times.

Hillary Clinton was named most admired woman for 20th time running. The Democratic presidential candidate secured 13 percent of the poll’s voters.

The Gallup poll was conducted between Dec. 2 and 6 by a representative sample of 824 adults nationwide.
