Nigeria: Anglican Church Builds Trauma Center for Boko Haram Victims

Anglicans in Nigeria are opening a hospital and trauma center for the thousands of people suffering as a result of terrorist group Boko Haram.

ChristianToday.com reports that the government asked the Christians who are speaheading the project to open the hospital and trauma center to all victims of Boko Haram’s violence, and not just Christians, which they agreed to do.

The project will cost 15 million Nigerian Naira, or just over $45,000.

"This is a diocesan hospital for all of us,” said Bishop Emmanuel Mani. We are going to use our doctors, nurses, and all health workers – both retired and serving – to render services for the community, and we hope the services would be free of charge.”

Building of the project has already begun, with the foundation stone being laid on Sunday.

Bishop Mani said that the government is supporting the project and providing labor free of charge.

Boko Haram has wreaked havoc on northern Nigeria in the past couple of years. Thousands of people have been affected by the violence and have been displaced from their homes.
