Naghmeh Abedini: Saeed Refuses to Deny Christ

Saeed Abedini’s wife, Naghmeh, continues to advocate for her husband’s freedom, Christian Today reports. Speaking at a US Congress hearing, Naghmeh Abedini said that her husband’s imprisonment in Iran has torn her family apart.

"My message is to show a glimpse of the pain we go through as a family torn apart. My children have lost both their father to a prison in Iran, and also their mother as I travel to advocate on behalf of my husband. It is hard to go back [to] them without solid answers, I hope this will be the time that we can bring Saeed home," Abedini told International Christian Concern prior to her address.

The pastor’s wife said that Saeed Abedini has refused to deny Christ while imprisoned, but suffers daily for his faith.

"He has been tortured, especially the first few months he was beaten badly when internal bleeding started. He refuses to deny his Christian faith; they are putting him in and out of solitary to break him. I'm not worried just about his physical pain, but his psychological. They want, when they release Saeed, to release a very sick person. Time is of the essence,” Abedini said.
