Little Boy Asks Mall Santa to Pray with Him for Hospitalized Baby

A little boy is making headlines for asking a mall Santa to pray with him for a boy who is ill.

According to the Huffungton Post, four-year-old Prestyn Barnette, who lives in West Columbia, South Carolina, heard about the plight of two-month-old Knox Stine who has been in the hospital since being found unconscious in November.

Prestyn’s aunt, Rebekah Lauren Sharpe, said, “We talk about it, and we pray for him and we've gotten Prestyn to pray for him in his nightly prayers as well."

When Sharpe took Prestyn to the mall to sit on Santa’s lap, the little boy asked Santa for a Lionel train set and “to pray for a miracle for baby Knox.”

Sharpe posted a picture to social media of Santa praying with Prestyn which quickly went viral.

The Stine family saw the picture as well and reached out to Prestyn and the Sharpe family.

“I never met them," Knox's mother Mindi Stine told Today.com. "I don't know them. I don't know how they know of us or heard of us or anything … I showed my husband [the photo], and we both just smiled at each other, like, 'Something amazing is happening.' It was just beautiful."

Knox’s father even bought Prestyn the train that he requested as a gift. Prestyn intends on returning the favor by creating a Build-a-Bear for Knox.
