Katy Perry Battles Nuns to Purchase Old Convent

Katy Perry is currently involved with a bizarre lawsuit involving two nuns.

Christian Today reports Perry is interested in purchasing an old convent in Los Angeles that was formerly used by the Sisters of the Immaculate of Heart of Mary. However, two nuns that bought the convent years ago say they have already sold the property to a buyer for $15.5 million.

Archbishop Jose Gomez says that the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles still has rights to the property and wants to work with Perry on a $14.5 million deal.

Nuns Rita Callanan and Catherine Rose argue that Perry is not an appropriate buyer, though they did not know the pop singer was when they first met.

“I found her videos and... if it's alright to say, I wasn't happy with any of it," Callanan said.

Three other nuns that hold ownership of the property agree that Gomez has the right to sell it.

The lawsuit will be heard in court in July.
