Kanye West Releases Hymn-Like Song on New Album

Hip hop artist Kanye West recently released his new album The Life of Pablo, which includes a song called “Ultralight Prayer” that sounds more like a hymn than a hip hop song.

Charisma News notes that the song is sweet and sounds like a song that might be sung in church.

“Ultralight Prayer” is an extension of the song “Ultralight Beam” on the album. West actually does not add his vocals to the song. Instead, gospel artist Kirk Franklin can be heard on the track saying, "Father, this prayer is for everyone that feels they're not good enough. This prayer is for everybody that feels that they're too messed up. For everyone who feels they've said, 'I am sorry' too many times."

The track also features a choir humming in the background as well as vocals from gospel and R&B artist Kelly Price.

Charisma News questions whether Kanye’s new hymn-like song may indicate he is exploring his faith.
