Joshua 1:9 is 2017 Verse of the Year

The YouVersion Bible App recently released their 2017 Year in Review, which revealed leading trends in Bible reading over the past year.

The Year in Review specifically revealed that Joshua 1:9 was the verse that was shared, bookmarked, and highlighted most often by Bible App users around the world.

Joshua 1:9 reads, “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

The review also revealed that more people than ever are using the Bible App to read and listen to God’s Word. Some astounding statistics include 1.4 billion highlights, bookmarks, and notes created in the Bible App, 222 million verses shared, 16.7 Bible chapters read, and 39 million Bible plans completed.

RelevantMagazine.com also notes that the review breaks down the most popular verses by countries. In addition to Joshua 1:9, other popular verses included Jeremiah 29:11 in the U.K., Singapore, the Philippines, Nigeria, Malaysia, Japan, Kenya, Ghana, Indonesia, and Canada, and Romans 8:28 in the U.S., Romania, Russia, and Taiwan.
