ISIS Leader Accepts Pledge of Allegiance from Boko Haram

Mohammed al-Adnani, the spokesman of ISIS, has reportedly accepted Boko Haram’s pledge of allegiance to the terror group. According to Buzzfeed News, the ISIS leader released an audio recording on social media that praised Boko Haram for their declaration of loyalty.

“Our caliph, God save him, has accepted the pledge of loyalty of our brothers of Boko Haram so we congratulate Muslims and our jihadi brothers in West Africa,” al-Adnani said in the recording.

“Our caliphate is resisting and it is advancing in the right direction. We are fighting the Crusaders and the rafidah (Shiites) and day by day the Islamic State is becoming strong.”

This was in response to a message that Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau sent ISIS which said in English subtitles, “We announce our allegiance to the Caliph of the Muslims [al-Baghdadi]...and will hear and obey in times of difficulty and prosperity in hardship and ease, and to endure being discriminated against, and not to dispute about rule with those in power.”
