ISIS Hostage John Cantlie Forced to Make Propaganda Video

Islamic State militants are continuing to spread propaganda through the use of videos directed at the United States and the U.K. In the latest video, British hostage John Cantlie is featured condemning his government for failing to save him, as well as speaking against another war in the Middle East.

In the video, Cantlie is seen alone behind a desk with a calm demeanor.

Cantlie says in the video, "You're thinking, 'He's only doing this because he's a prisoner. He's got a gun at his head, and he's being forced to do this.' Right? Well, it's true. I am a prisoner. That I cannot deny. But seeing as I've been abandoned by my government and my fate now lies in the hands of the Islamic State, I have nothing to lose."

According to the Cantlie, the new video is the first of a series that he will be featured in, reporting on the “other side” of ISIS.

Authorities believe that Cantlie has been put under extreme physical and psychological pressure by ISIS and is not making the propaganda on his own accord.
