Twelve Christians, including one child, have been killed by ISIS terrorists in Syria for refusing to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ. Christian Today reports the executions took place on Aug. 28.
According to Christian Aid Mission, ISIS militants cut the fingertips off of a 12-year-old boy after his father, a ministry leader, refused to renounce his Christian faith. The militants then killed the child, his father, and two other ministry workers.
An additional eight Christians were taken to a village outside Aleppo to be killed. Two women in the group were raped in front of a crowd before all eight were beheaded by extremists. Their bodies were hung on crosses in a mockery of Jesus’ crucifixion.
Witnesses said that many of the martyred Christians prayed and praised God until the end.
At the same time, International Christian Concern reports that former Mosul churches have been converted into slaughterhouses by ISIS. During the Islamic Festival of Sacrifice, or Bakr-Eid, several churches were used to slaughter animals.
The Assyrian Monitor for Human Rights called the offense just one of a "series of violations of the Daash [ISIS] terrorist organisation of churches and religious temples in the city of Mosul.”
