ISIS reportedly has a new target for its violence, as the UN says the terrorist group executed three female lawyers.
"In just the first two weeks of this year, reports indicate that three female lawyers were executed," UN spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani said in a statement.
The UN now fears that educated women are at risk of ISIS persecution.
"...professional women, particularly women who have run as candidates in elections for public office, seem to be particularly at risk,” Shamdasani said.
At the same time, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has announced that the international community is not doing enough to stop ISIS terrorism.
Al-Abadi told the Associated Press, “We are in this almost on our own. There is a lot being said and spoken, but very little on the ground.”
The BLAZE reports that the Prime Minister also said he was grateful for U.S. involvement in the fight; airstrikes against the terrorist regime had been effective.
Still, al-Abadi said more needed to be done to defeat ISIS.
“We want to see an acceleration of the training, acceleration of the delivery of arms” as well as “support and logistics,” al-Abadi said.
