Imprisoned Asia Bibi Forgives Persecutors

Imprisoned Christian Asia Bibi says she forgives her persecutors even though they accused her unjustly.

According to CBN News, the Pakistani Christian mother of five has been in prison for seven years on blasphemy charges.

She was initially given the death sentence, but this sentences was overturned last year by the Pakistani court. She is currently awaiting a new hearing.

Bibi was charged with blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed in 2009 when she defended her Christian faith to hostile Muslim co-workers.

In a recent statement provided by Bibi’s family to Italian newspaper La Stampa, Bibi said, "I forgive my persecutors, those who have falsely accused me, and I await their forgiveness."
