Former 'Hour of Power' Host Robert Schuller Not Expected to Live through Week

Televangelist and founder of the Crystal Cathedral Ministries Robert Schuller is not expected to life through the week, according to his family.

Schuller’s daughter-in-law, Donna Schuller, told the OC Register that the pastor was breathing on his own but was weak and had not eaten in several days. The Register reports that Schuller’s condition had been deteriorating since January.

Schuller, the former host of “Hour of Power,” was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2013; he has refused chemotherapy since the passing of his wife in Feb. 2014.

Donna Schuller said, "He was talking normally a couple of months ago. But since the procedure, he was whispering. And later, he could barely mouth words."

Though the pastor appears to in his final days, his daughter-in-law says he “doesn’t seem to be in pain.”

"He’s had a wonderful life and he’ll pass gracefully,” Schuller said.
