North Korean defector Kim Chung-seong hosts a daily radio program in which he broadcasts the gospel, as well as warnings about North Korea, to his countrymen.
As ChristianHeadlines.com previously reported, North Korea is the number one worst country for Christian persecution, according to Open Doors World Watch List.
Many North Koreans have escaped the oppressive regime, but many more do not realize the full extend of the oppression they live under.
Kim escaped to South Korea in 2004 and now uses his hour-long radio program “Hello from Seoul, the Republic of Korea,” to tell his countrymen back in North Korea about the dangers of cult worship and to preach the gospel to them.
"Brothers and sisters in the North, I hope this time can be a moment of prayer for a miracle that every party member of North Korea at the party congress can meet God, not take a further step into the cult of personality," Kim said.
The Christian Examiner reports that Kim was referring to the meeting of North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party this month in which leader Kim Jong Un was unanimously installed as party chairman.
"I am desperately praying that North Korea's Kim Jong Un and all administrators under him kneel down in front of God and repent for their sins, leave the path of tormenting their people," said Kim.
North Korea has strict bans on outside information which is completely regulated by the government. However, many North Koreans have found ways to listen to or watch forbidden media. The number of North Koreans who listen to foreign radio programs, for example, is as high as 29 percent.
