Donald Trump Mistakes Communion Plate for Offering Plate at Iowa Church

Donald Trump has reportedly made another error regarding Christian practices. According to Christian Today, the Republican presidential candidate confused Communion plates for offering plates while visiting a church in Iowa.

Trump attended the First Christian Church in Council Bluffs on Sunday (Jan. 31) prior to the Iowa caucuses. When Communion plates were passed, the billionaire real estate mogul mistook them for offering plates, dropping several bills into one.

When offering plates were passed later, Trump placed bills into the correct plate.

“I thought it was for offering,” Trump said with a laugh.

Trump has previously been criticized referring to 2 Corinthians as “Two Corinthians” in a speech at Liberty University. He also claimed that the Bible was his favorite book, but refused to share his favorite scripture verse.

Trump has continued to push for Evangelical support, but is struggling. Ted Cruz overpowered Trump in Monday’s Iowa caucuses.
