Christians in Minnesota Protest First Satanic Monument on Public Property

On Sunday, July 16, a group of Catholics protested against the U.S.’s first satanic monument erected on public property.

The monument, called the “bowl of wisdom,” will be placed in a designated “free speech zone” of Veterans Memorial Park in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. The area is reportedly open to a monument affiliated with any religion or belief system as long as the monument honors veterans.

The Christian Post reports that the “bowl of wisdom” features a black steel cube inscribed with inverted pentagrams. The top features an upside-down soldier’s helmet for visitors to place notes and remembrances to fallen soldiers.

Hundreds of Catholics gathered on Sunday to protest the monument. They held signs that read, “Satan is evil, evil has no rights“, “Honk against Satan” and “Satan takes souls to hell.”

The group of Christians was also protesting the action taken against a Christian monument erected in the park. The monument featured a soldier kneeling before a cross. The Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a complaint against the Christian statue.

According to Newsline.com, Belle Plaine’s city council subsequently ruled that the statue had to be taken down and that the park should designate the area as a “free speech zone.” That was when the Satanic Temple proposed their own monument, however.
