Genocide against Christians is taking place, according to The Express.

The London-based news outlet says that the Islamic State has murdered “scores” of Christians and thousands have been forced to flee the violent areas. The site also claims that some Christians have been crucified.

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby says the problem is mostly being ignored by the Western world.

In response, George Weidenfield, a Jew who escaped Nazi-occupied Austria with Christian help, is launching rescue missions.

“I have a debt to repay,” Weidenfield said of his escape from Austria at the age of 5.

Weidenfield’s charity, the Barnabas Fund, has helped 158 Christians in Syria and relocated them to Poland.

“The British government has said it will take 20,000 refugees and we have said, ‘Will you not take some Christians?’ But we have had no reply,” said founder and international director Patrick Sookhdeo.

“We have even put out a joint statement with Muslim Aid to the Government saying both communities are suffering, can’t you look after both?”

Reports claim that Christians have been crucified, beheaded, raped and some have even been sold as slaves.

“It is like going back 1,000 years seeing the barbarity that Christians are having to live under. I think we are dealing with a group which makes Nazism pale in comparison and I think they have lost all respect for human life,” Sookhdeo said.

“Crucifying these people is sending a message and they are using forms of killing which they believe have been sanctioned by Sharia law.”
