Boko Haram Militants Surround Maiduguri, Release Photos of Child Soldier Training Camp

Nigerian officials fear that a deadly attack is coming from Boko Haram, as the militants have reportedly surrounded the city of Maiduguri.

CBC News reports that the terrorists have warned Maiduguri residents that they are digging “a big grave” for the upcoming attack and that “there will be no mercy.” The roads out of the city have been blocked by Boko Haram members and 2 million people are believed to be stranded.

At the same time, the terrorist group has released photos of what authorities believe to be a child soldier training camp. One of the photos shows children holding AK-47 assault rifles, apparently learning to use the guns.

Nigeria Security Network coordinator Andrew Noakes said that the child soldiers will likely be used as a disposable bodies for the terrorist group.

"Boko Haram often uses its child soldiers and other forced recruits to form the first wave of an attack, before sending in the more experienced fighters to finish off operations," he said.
