Asia Bibi's Death Sentence Appeal Postponed Fifth Time

Pakistani Christian Asia Bibi has had her death sentence appeal postponed by authorities for a fifth time. The court appeal was supposed to take place Tuesday, May 27 after being cancelled four times previously.

Bibi is accused of blasphemy and speaking against the prophet Muhammad while arguing with colleagues reports Christian Today.

Bibi has five children and has remained in prison awaiting sentencing and appeals for four years.

Prisoners accused of blasphemy are in danger of violence or death from extremists while awaiting sentencing. Some Pakistanis charged are innocent, but accused by others using the severe blasphemy laws to settle personal vendettas.
