Anne Graham Lotz on America Going Forward: ‘Most Critical Thing God’s People Can Do is Pray’

Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of revered evangelist Billy Graham, said in an interview with CBN News that she believes God has raised up Donald Trump to be the president, but also that Christians must continue to pray for the country and for its leaders.

Lotz quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 which states, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

She said that she believes the 81 percent of evangelicals who turned out to vote for Trump were an answer to prayer, but that Christians must continue to pray for him as he begins his presidency.

She specifically encouraged Christians to pray for Trump to have wisdom and to rely on God in his decisions.

Lotz said Christians have a unique position in America as they believe in the power of prayer and the change God brings about through repentance.

"I think the most critical thing that God's people can do is one is to pray," she said. "Two is to repent of our sin and three is to keep our focus on God."

"God is the one who will bring healing. It's not a political party or one particular person. Our faith has to be in God," she added.
