1,000 Christian Leaders Meeting to Address Pornography Epidemic

One thousand Christian leaders are meeting in Greensboro, North Carolina this week to address the growing issue of pornography.

CBN News reports that the leaders will take part in the Set Free Global Summit from April 4-7, which will explore the social, psychological, neurological, and spiritual impact of pornography, as well as address ways to counter it.

Recently, the Utah state senate declared pornography a public health crisis based on studies that show porn is having an alarmingly negative impact on society, both for those who are addicted to it and for those who are affected by it second-hand.

Josh McDowell, popular author and evangelist, recently commissioned a Barna Group study on the effects of pornography. The study found that 67 percent of young men and 49 percent of young women consider viewing pornography as acceptable.

Attendees at the Set Free Global Summit will hear from 30 leading experts and will discuss ways to promote sexual integrity in the church and to find solutions to the pornography epidemic.
