This is USA, Not ATM

November 19, 2010

In the coming debate over government spending and taxes, the various interest groups will be spouting their usual and predictable comments.

Public employee unions don't want to sacrifice; government bureaucrats won't give up anything. Social Security recipients think they deserve regular raises and the politicians won't construct an alternative to that program or Medicare.

What this is going to take is a national uprising, even bigger than the Tea Party movement. We are going to have to stage a second American revolution, not with guns, but with votes. Between now and the next presidential election, sufficient numbers of us must begin seeing the world differently with more responsibility for ourselves and less for government. This is USA, not ATM.

The more we re-take power for ourselves the less government will have over us. There will be strong resistance from those who benefit from keeping things the way they are, but there is no alternative. To avoid economic collapse we must this time really take our country back.
