The Next Obama Outrage

May 9, 2011

And now back to our regularly schedule outrages from the Obama administration.

The latest is a proposal that could require everyone who drives to take along a device that reports how much you drive to the government. Not only that, the device would impose an automobile mileage tax that would be deducted each time you put gas in your car.

The White House says the proposed legislation is only in draft form and has not yet been formally circulated within the administration. Sure.

Is there no end to the control this government wants to put on our lives? More taxes, more regulation, more intrusion. When will it stop? How about the next election?

Polls show that in the aftermath of the killing of Osama bin Laden, the president’s approval numbers have jumped to over 50 percent. My view is that it won’t last, because killing Osama was a one-time event. Wrecking the economy is an ongoing objective of this administration, which wants to force more of us into government dependence.
