The Media's Double Standard and Hypocrisy

Have you noticed how most of my media colleagues apply a double standard to lawbreakers?

For example, former Alabama judge Roy Moore was roundly denounced by the big media for erecting and refusing to remove Ten Commandments stone tablets from his courthouse. The media hated that so they excoriated him.

Now come two mayors – one in San Francisco and one in New Paltz, New York. The media describe the San Francisco mayor has young, handsome and Catholic. Everything they write about him is positive. It is the same with the mayor of new Paltz, New York.

Both mayors are breaking state law by performing same-sex marriages.

The difference is that the media are on the side of homosexuals and, in fact, there are many homosexuals working in the media. But they are against Christians and biblical symbols and have far fewer of us working in the profession.

Double standard and hypocrisy. Nothing new for my profession.

I’m Cal Thomas in Washington.
