Same-Sex Marriage in Virginia Could be Coming Soon

You may have heard by now that the new Attorney General of Virginia, who won by only 900 votes, will ask a federal court to strike down the state’s constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. Mark Herring thinks it violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

Just days after being sworn-in, which included a pledge to uphold the law, Herring switched positions from what he said during his campaign. That's not unusual for a politician. Herring says Virginia has been on the wrong side of issues in the past, like slavery and Jim Crow laws and a law that once banned mixed-race marriages. It's a clever strategy and given the moral direction of the country it will probably succeed.

For a serious Christian who believes the Bible, our appeals to the unredeemed to live by God's standards will always fall on deaf ears. Ths world is headed for judgment and eventual restoration. It will happen on schedule as documented in Revelation. Meanwhile, as that Book says, let the holy continue to be holy and the evil continue to do evil. I’m Cal Thomas in Washington.
