Republican Bashing

Republican Bashing

The Democratic Leadership Council held one of its occasional meetings on Monday in Washington. Senator Tom Daschle, Indiana Senator Evan Bayh and others who would like to be president, showed up to bash President Bush. Al Gore was not there.

What struck me about this meeting are two things. One: there is no such thing as a moderate Democrat these days, at least in Congress. If you don't think so, ask yourself which one of them has voted for a tax cut and against abortion and gay rights.

While Daschle and Bayh were bashing President Bush on the economy, the Dow Jones industrials were headed up toward their nearly 450 point increase.

The problem for Democrats is that they have neither an issue, nor any ideas. All they can do is bash Republicans. Their agenda is more of the same - bigger government, more spending, increased regulation and higher taxes to pay for it all. I only wish that Republicans would start bashing Democrats by pointing this out, instead of going along with so many Democrat bills. I'm Cal Thomas in Washington.
