Reid Gives Up

April 24, 2007

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is behaving like Neville Chamberlain, who famously went to Berlin in 1939, met with Hitler and returned saying it was possible to have “peace in our time.” What he got for his ‘whimpishness’ was war in his time.

Reid has declared the Iraq war “lost,” thus giving hope to those killing American troops that victory is at hand – for us, not for them. No leader of the Senate ought to be making such pronouncements. It is amazing what some politicians are willing to do for their own political objectives and now they overlook the interests of the country for the sake of their personal and political interests.

There is no way the insurgents can defeat America. Only America can defeat itself and with the likes of Harry Reid and the ultra-left moveon.org pulling his strings, defeat will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Even Reid’s hometown newspaper, the Las Vegas Journal Review has severely criticized him for saying the war is lost. The Democrats have become the party of defeat and retreat. They bear no resemblance to Democrats of the past.
