National Security Compromised?

August 26, 2009

In the continuing war against those who would destroy us, good intelligence is fundamental in preventing new attacks. The Bush administration understood this, which is why it applied strong interrogation tactics to suspected terrorists. Information was obtained which prevented new attacks and more innocent deaths.

The Obama administration has bowed to its left wing. Attorney General Eric Holder has named a special prosecutor to investigate allegations of prisoner abuse. Never mind that Holder and President Obama have said they don't want to re-argue the past and that good intelligence is critical to this war. Never mind the tactics had legal sanction. This administration will seek to prosecute CIA interrogators who obeyed the laws at the time and who loved their country enough to care more for its safety than the supposed rights of murderers and potential murderers.

This is like changing the speed limit to 55 and then ticketing everyone who drove 65 before the limit was lowered. It's madness, and CIA Director Leon Panetta should resign in protest.
