Muslim Attitudes

June 7, 2007

It is almost a daily occurrence now: new evidence surfaces about Muslim attitudes and Muslim behavior that challenges what political leaders say about terrorists and how they supposedly represent a tiny minority of this “peaceful religion.”

The latest is a survey of British Muslims that has discovered one-fourth of them believe the government and security services were involved in the July 7 subway and bus bombings in London. One-fourth!

This is not the first poll to reveal such attitude. A poll last August showed that 45 percent of Muslims believed the 9/11 attacks in America were a conspiracy between the United States and Israel.

This isn’t a fanatical fringe when one-fourth to nearly one-half of Muslims admits to a conspiracy theory without substance. The real number is probably much higher. Outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair wants the government to pay for training Imams who will preach a religion of peace. My question is: why were so many let into the country and why are the nut cases committed to killing in their god’s name still here?
