The 49th Annual National Prayer Breakfast was held yesterday in Washington. The night before, our annual media dinner featured talks by Fox sportscasters Pat Summerall and James Brown, Touched by an Angel Executive Producer Martha Williamson and the great country music singer, Randy Travis.

The Lord was clearly there. Summerall shared his struggle with alcoholism and how Jesus delivered him and he was baptized at age 68. Williamson spoke openly about an abortion she had before becoming a Christian. Many had tears in their eyes. In the 10 years my wife and I have been hosting this dinner, I have never seen the Lord visit us in such a powerful way. In a couple of weeks we will have an audiotape available of the dinner. If you would like a copy, drop me a line and I'll tell you how to get it. There will also be excerpts from the prayer breakfast with remarks by President Bush and others.

Do pray for the moving of God's Spirit in the lives of our media friends. They are precious to me, but more precious to God.

I'm Cal Thomas in Washington.
