Liberals Tired of Conservative Domination of the Media

Liberals think they need a network of their own to compete with Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and the rest of talk radio.

A New York Times story says liberals are frustrated because of the success of conservative talk show hosts. They think it’s a matter of finding the liberal counterpart to Limbaugh, Fox and company—instead of it being a problem with their own message. They still don’t get it.

The liberal media has tried Mario Cuomo and Jim Hightower and no one listens. It’s because their ideas are wrong and their personalities are not worth listening to.

Besides, liberals already "own" most of the media, including NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC. Of course, ratings for news programming on all of these networks continue to decline. Their grand poo-bah, Phil Donahue, barely registers on the ratings meter and is overdue for cancellation. On the radio, they have the taxpayer-funded National Public Radio.

The Left doesn’t understand that a large percentage of the population believes the big media are biased. They say they’re not, but so what? If conservatives believe they are, they will take their eyes and ears elsewhere.

It’s an economic issue, as well as a political one. Let the liberals keep searching for a liberal version of Rush Limbaugh. They won’t find one and even if they do, few will listen. They are in denial.
